Walking in the Cotswolds

North Cotswold Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale

The Cotswolds is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), designated as such in 1966. The name derives from a combination of “Cots”, which were stone sheep shelters, and “wold” which were rolling hills. Not surprisingly the area is a favourite with walkers, and a pub selling real ale is a welcome sight during or after a walk. Our new branch has started to organise walks that take in both the beauty of the countryside and the delights of a good pint of real ale.

The walks can be arranged on the day to cater for all levels of fitness and desired walking pace. We normally end the walk with a lunch time meal at the pub concerned.

The walks take place about every one or two months during the year, with a break when Summer is at its busiest. See our Branch Diary for details. (Click on Diary above)

New participants are always very welcome.
