|
||||||||||||
The North Cotswold Branch of
CAMRA in conjunction with the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway are
holding their 20th Ale and Steam Weekend at Winchcombe and
Toddington Stations from Friday 27th May until Sunday 29th
May 2022 We will again be
splitting the beer sales between Winchcombe and Toddington Stations.
On Friday 27th May, the bar on both stations will
be open from 10:30 until 18:00. On Saturday 28th May the bar will be open from 10:30
until 18:30 at Winchcombe, and 18:15 at Toddington.
On Sunday 29th May,
both bars will be open from 11:00 until 16:00. Opening on Sunday will be
subject to beer availability. The total number of Beers will be about 45, made up
from 30 at Winchcombe and 15 at Toddington. 12
different Ciders/Perry will also be available, split between the two
stations. Plus Hot & Cold Food with Soft Drinks
Train Times & Entry
A ticket for travel or a platform ticket costing £2, valid on the day,
is required for entry to the event. You will then need to buy a standard
souvenir glass for an additional £2. You will also need to purchase a Beer
Token Card(s) for the value of £10. (No cash sales at the bar).
Hence a complete normal bar package costs £12.
You only need to buy a bar package once, which you can use at either
bar. Extra token cards can be purchased as required. Unused tokens can either
be donated to charity, or cashed in, during festival opening times only.
Similarly, glasses can be returned; a refund of £1 will be given.
An enhanced timetable will be in operation on both Friday and
Saturday, including a shuttle DMU between Winchcombe and Toddington stations.
First train from Cheltenham at 10:00. See GWR site for train times from
Broadway.
The normal timetable will be in operation on Sunday. See GWR site.
For further information on train times please visit http://www.gwsr.com Limited Car Parking
Please note that parking at Winchcombe is very limited and it is more
fun travelling there by train. (Ample parking available at Cheltenham Race
Course and at Toddington Station)
The attendance at this event may be another record due to extra rail
traffic as a result of the Broadway opening in 2018 and the extended bar
opening times, so please come early if you can. Cheltenham Tasting Panel
The above will be in the Winchcombe Marquee on platform 2 this year,
in connection with scoring and shortlisting beers for Champion Beer of
Britain (CBOB) Tasting Panel. You are welcome to chat to the team to find out
more. Volunteers
