Inter-Branch Skittles Friday 18th March
2011 |
North Cotswold Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale |
Following
the popular skittles match against Cheltenham Sub Branch last year we
challenged Shakespeare Branch to a match at the Butchers
Arms at Mickleton. This was held on 18th March at the
excellent alley with Doom Bar and Abbot Ale on hand pump. |

Aiming for
12 per side this was exceeded with 14 per side completing five rounds thanks
to an active sticker up who kept things moving. The competition was fierce
with respective Branches trading rounds until the final Shakespeare player
(their bus driver) narrowly snatching the team result. Liz Kirby
won the ladies prize with a total score of 34 and Richard Hogg held up North
Cots honour by winning the men’s prize with a score of 42. Peter Rowe should
be mentioned with a 14 top score in one round. |

An excellent
buffet was laid on for players and friends with North Cotswold sporting their
new black tea shirts doing it justice. Thanks to
the Butchers Arms, our Mickleton members and Roger for organising N Cots and
Bob Kirby for the opposition and we look forward to a rematch in 2012. |
