Pub of the Year 2010. Presentation Evening, Thursday 3rd June.

North Cotswold Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale

For the second year running the Ebrington Arms at Ebrington near Chipping Campden has won the North Cotswold CAMRA award of Pub of the Year. Five of our ten Good Beer Guide entries were short listed based on beer quality and service over the past 12 months. We have 88 pubs in the North Cotswold area, ten of which are listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and the top half of these were subject to further evaluation for Pub of the Year.

The criteria used by our visiting panel of North Cotswold Branch committee members is the national CAMRA  system based on Beer Quality, Value for money, Service, support for CAMRA aims and Customer age profile. The Ebrington Arms was a clear winner with the Craven Arms at Brockhampton runner up. Other short listed pubs were the Bakers Arms at Broad Campden, the Inn on the Marsh and the Kings Head at Bledington. Two of these were previous Pub of the Year winners.

As last year we organised a Safari Evening held on 3rd June when we presented the respective framed certificates to the Craven Arms who provided the starters and the main course at The Ebrington Arms. Pictures show North Cotswold Chairman presenting Runner Up POTY to Barbara and son Sam Price. The winners award to Jim and Claire Alexander.

The Ebrington Arms now goes forward to compete this month against the 11 other Branch winners in the South Western Region and we wish them every success.
