Day Out to Great Malvern, Saturday June 16th 2012

North Cotswold Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale

 

The format of these day-outs is that we use Public Transport to travel to and from our destination. No pre-booking is required, but you will need to pay for your own transport costs.

 

This year we are visiting Great Malvern in Worcestershire.

 

Itinerary

 

08:35   Catch 801 Bus from Bourton. This bus leaves Cheltenham at 07:45.

 

09:00   Arrive Moreton in Marsh, and head for a coffee stop in the High Street.

 

10:00   Catch Train to Great Malvern from Moreton Railway Station

 

11:05   Train arrives at the Historic Railway Station

 

11:30   Arrive at the Foley Arms Hotel (Wetherspoons), 14 Worcester Road, WR14 4QS, for late breakfast or whatever else takes your fancy.

 

12:30   Optional walk up to St. Ann’s Well

 

14:00   The Morgan, 52 Clarence Road, WR14 3EQ. This is a Wye Valley Brewery owed Pub (They only own 4). Closes 3 pm, and re-opens 5 pm. Originally called The Cavalry Arms.

 

Those going back to Cheltenham can now catch the 15:44 train (See table below)

 

15:30   The Nags Head, Bank Street, WR14 2JG

 

16:30   Great Malvern Hotel, Graham Road, WR14 3RL. This is an outlet for beers from the local Malvern Hills Brewery

 

The itinerary in Great Malvern can be changed on the day to suit the group’s preferences.
