Trip to Avalon for Helpers
of the 3rd Moreton Beer Festival. Saturday 29th January

Presentation
of the Beer of the Festival to Isle of Avalon for ‘Sunrise’
On Saturday 29th
January 2011 a party of 20 helpers who assisted at the North Cotswold Moreton
Beer Festival, held in September 2010, travelled by coach to Somerset for a day
out to present this award. The framed certificate was presented to the Brewer
and owner Arthur Frampton by Martyn Herbert the North Cotswold Beer Festival
Director. Since the brewer are contracting capacity currently it was decided to
present the award at the Ring of Bells Ashcott which is a regular GBG
entry and is effectively the Isle of Avalon tap with three of their beers
generally available.

There were five beers on tap for our visit, all in
excellent condition, namely:- Avalon Sunrise 5% Avalon Chocolate Orange 5% Avalon Jakes Mild 4% Exe Valley Dobs Best Bitter 4.1% Jolly Boat Freebooter 4% |

After the
presentation and a hearty lunch we thanked Landlord -----and returned home
stopping off at the
Salutation Inn at Ham a contender for the National Best Pub Award
having won the SW Regional award.

This was a first visit for some of the party who all
agreed it was a worthy winner and contender. Beers available were:- Severn Vale Dursley Steam Bitter 4.2% Bath Ales Barnstormer 4.5% Butcombe Bitter 4% Arbor Ales Saaz 4% |

A very
enjoyable day out to two tremendous pubs with pick up and drop off working
perfectly. Many thanks to Martyn and driver Wayne.
Helpers for our two festivals this year will be wearing black polo shirts with sponsorship from the Mousetrap Inn with their distinctive mouse logo in silver. |
