You don't see many "sweet" or "milk" stouts these
days; years backbrewers such as Mackesons
used to extol the health benefits ofdrinking their
"nourishing" stout; imagine that in these puritanical days!I've long wanted to brew a sweet stout and spent
some timeresearching exactly what makes a stout
"sweet" - don't laugh it's notthat
obvious a question! Basically 10% added lactose - milk sugar - isthe accepted definition and it's in the US style of
stronger ABVs thanthe UK versions which are
generally sub 3%. |
